Thank you for your interest in Atlanta Guitar & Lutherie building and repair program.
The guitar building and repair course is an intensive, six-week long program of study. Classes meet Monday through Saturday, from 10AM until 6 PM.. You will have the opportunity to build 2 guitars. These guitars are constructed from scratch, with very few pre-made parts. You will learn and practice essential guitar repair and construction techniques. Bring your fretted instruments to repair.

The class is taught hands-on. Demonstrations, presentations, and printed handouts are provided as reference. Occasional field trips and guest lecturers provide additional instruction. Upon successful completion of all requirements, students are awarded a Certificate of Luthier Course completion.

Atlanta Guitar and Lutherie is a private course. While we cannot guarantee job placement, we do help qualified graduates find employment. Documentation of your guitar construction and repair work will also serve as a resume for graduating luthiers. .

The cost of the program and housing at the Luthier Lodge is $6500. A non-refundable deposit of $200 is required for application. Tuition payment is due 30 days before the start of classes. Transportation and food are not included.  Additional materials costs will vary due to the wide range of options such as wood selection, electronics, cases, etc. The cost of materials for the two instruments ranges from $200-$600+. You will be provided a basic tool kit, as well as access to shop tools. Classes fill quickly. Please register early.
