Our two-week guitar building course takes you through the steps in learning and understanding the materials, designing, and building of a steel-string acoustic from scratch (not prefab kits), along with in-depth fretting techniques. Students will have the opportunity to build an acoustic guitar, (Dreadnaught, OM/000, Parlor, Jumbo, or other possible options) from some of the finest and exotic woods available. All aspects of the building of your guitar is done 100% by you the student, from the knowledge you obtain from hands-on instruction.
Our two-week course you will learn our comprehensive fret work based workshop offers individualized hands-on training in fretted instrument repair. AGW’s repair portion is designed to walk you through the typical everyday variety of repair work and creative problem solving performed in repair shops. Students will learn how to correctly identify and repair issues such as broken and lifting bridges, unlevel/worn frets, set-ups, intonation, neck adjustments/alignments to repairs of splines and electronic problems and so much more. Bring your own instruments and your friends instruments to work on too!
